Among computer users, the brand is notorious for delivering solid-rock durability, superior technology, and user-friendly designs. We are here to provide you a meticulous review of both and pick a winning side. Long story short, let’s delve deeper!

1. Logitech G403

Score 8.8 OUT OF 10
Logitech G403

Logitech G403 Hero is a classical design of Logitech. The Hero version in all Logitech mice means that the mouse is a wired one. There is no difference between the wired version and the wireless version.

Design

The G403 model has a modest design that does not strain your eyes. Its weight can fall into the category of lightweight mice thanks to its 97-gram (3.42 oz) weight. However, if you want to have even a lighter mouse, you can remove 10 grams (0.35 oz) from the bottom of the mouse. As a side note, we would like to mention that most professional gamers play with heavier mice. This is because weight brings stability. On the other hand, lightweight mice bring wrist comfort, decrease pain, and so on.

When it comes to gripping the mouse, it is a bit uncomfortable to hold for a long time. It can be due to texture or something else but there is some minor problem with the rubber on the sides. Thumb does not rest well.

Another design issue is that the mouse is not ambidextrous. It is suitable only for the right-handed people and the model ignores left-handed folks.

Performance

When it comes to performance, Logitech G403 is equipped with the most accurate sensor of Logitech, the Hero 16K sensor. It is also one of the most accurate sensors in the whole market. Its tracking accuracy is 1 to 1, which means you will see the same movement you make with your mouse.

Other than that, the sensitivity and precision are at a very good level with this sensor. The DPI is adjustable and as the sensor name suggests, it goes as high as 16000. You can shift the level of DPI with a button on the mouse automatically. You can preset the DPI shift levels in the G Hub program and change it in the game. For instance; when you are in an FPS game and want to aim precisely for a headshot, simply decrease the DPI with the DPI shift button. After you hunt your enemy down, go back to the high DPI to resume good maneuvers with your mouse.

Buttons and Cord Life

There is a total of 6 programmable buttons on this mouse. Indeed, there are the traditional left, right and wheel-click buttons. The last button on the face of the mouse is the DPI shift button that you can do what we described above.

Lastly, there are two side buttons whose default setting is for forward and back on your explorer. However, you can set each one of them as you please and assign different keys.

The scroll wheel is important to understand the overall durability as the wheel is the first to break. The scroll is not so stiff or smooth but we encountered a problem with it. After some time, the wheel gets smoother and clicks accidentally every time scroll wheel bumps.

Lastly, the cord has good durability and it works quite well for more than 2 years. Yet, a wireless mouse with a good report rate is always more preferable than a wired mouse, I believe.

Pros

  • Easy programming
  • Removable weights
  • Hero 16K sensor
  • Good cable life
Cons

  • Wired mouse
  • Not ambidextrous
  • Uncomfortable design

2. Logitech G Pro

Score 9.4 OUT OF 10
Logitech G Pro

Logitech’s award-winning model G Pro is a great mouse, overall. It is an improvement to previous Logitech and has updated technology.

Design

Let’s begin with its shape. G Pro is on the borders of three main gripping styles; thus, it is suitable for all three gripping styles. You can be a fingertip user, palm gripper or claw gripper, it just fits nicely. However, it is not the perfect match if you are a claw gripper with small hands.

The feet of the mouse feels like it flies. It is agile, swift, and precise. Considering that it is extremely lightweight, its agility should not startle anyone. On the other hand, sturdiness, stability, and smooth control over the mouse is questionable.

Other than that, the mouse is ambidextrous and I always feel happy whenever I see left-handed people not alienated. You can remove the pinky side buttons for better grip and comfort.

Performance

Just like the G403, the G Pro employs the Hero 16K sensor as well. This sensor is incredibly accurate and snappy. You will feel the precision that the sensor delivers. DPI performance is much better than the old Logitech sensors such as Pixart PMW3366. Although PMW3366 was a great sensor itself, Hero almost doubles its performance when it comes to sensitivity.

Even though the mouse is wireless, the report rate and responsiveness work like a charm. Normally, wireless mice have common problems like report rate connection. Yet, the Lightspeed technology here made G Pro as fast as a wired mouse. It takes less than a millisecond and overcomes the common problem.

Buttons and Battery Life

There is a total of 6 programmable buttons. Two side buttons are removable on both sides for better customization.

In addition to that, the scroll wheel used in this product feels more stable and gives us a real bumpy feeling. It is a bit stiffer than the G403 in the beginning but unlike G403, it does not get smoother and smoother in time.

The battery is great in this one. It fully charges in about an hour and it lasts about 30 hours to drain the full energy. If you have a Powerplay mat, you can charge it wirelessly while using your mouse.

Pros

  • Great battery life
  • Hero 16K sensor
  • Ambidextrous
  • Multifunctional design
Cons

  • Less affordable
  • Not suitable for small-handed claw grippers

Which One Wins?

I think we have a clear winner here and it is the Logitech G Pro. Thanks to its ergonomic and multifunctional design, superior technology, it was not a hard decision to take for us.
